Activities

Motorcycling :- We have the well known circuit of Almeria a short 15 minute ride away, where all the major UK trackday organisers and Spanish companies run events through out the year. We can offer alternative accommodation for participants not wishing to use the standard hotels which can be some distance from the circuit.  We can also arrange transfers to and from Airports and to the Circuit.
 
For those touring, motorcyclists are always welcome at Almond Reef.  If you are riding the fabulous Roads or exploring the towns or Coastal areas of this beautiful part of Andalucia, we can provide accommodation for any duration along with secure bike parking.

Walking :- Enjoy glorious scenery in beautiful warm sunshine throughout the winter months as you discover the peace and tranquility. There are many largely undiscovered walks in the area. Discover too the smells of lavender & thyme as you walk amongst the mountain herbs & flowers, particularly Jan - May.
The house is actually situated on a long way marked circular walk. Most walks however are not Signposted

Note: Most walks are un signposted so a good compass and map reading skills are useful. However in winter months we can arrange guided walks for groups.

Cycling :- The area surrounding Almond Reef is fabulous cycling country for the enthusiast ! There are miles of quiet roads crossing open countryside with gorgeous views of the heath land, mountains, almond, olive, orange and lemon groves. Its often hard going so strictly for the fit and adventurous. The mountain biker too has many hill / mountain tracks to choose from.

Note: you will need to bring your own bike. If you book as a group of 8 -10 we can arrange transport from Almeria airport for an additional fee.

Golf :- There are currently two golf courses within 25mins drive in addition to the unique Desert Springs course which is just 35mins Drive away.

Caving :- The Enormous Sorbas cave system is nearby. There are guided tours of the caves from easy going for beginners to more advanced for those with experience. Equipment can be provided by the center.

Riding, Scuba Diving :- Riding and Scuba diving are available in the area. We are looking into providing these activities for group bookings in 2005. Until then we will be pleased to book on request.

Fiestas :- There are numerous fabulous fiestas & events throughout the year - almost continuous in August.

Painting / Photography :- Andalucia is famous for its amazing light, varied landscapes and pretty villages. If you belong to or lead classes in these subjects why not contact us about bringing a group out to us, we will make you welcome and arrange transport to suitable locations. We also have facilities for classes at Almond Reef itself. An excellent artist will also be available if booked in advance.

So many activities you'll just have to come and visit us again.
